Colin and Rachel

A year or so ago, Rachel and I were living on the same hall at school, and she and Colin were about to go out on their one year anniversary date. It was then that she asked me that fateful question. “Will you take pictures of us before our date?”. We walked out around campus and I snapped a few shots of them. Most of them were downright awful. But it was then that I fell in love with taking pictures of people in love.

Rachel, being gracious, gave me a second chance as their photographer in May of 2008, and has been an encouraging voice in the entire process of developing snixie photography. She’s a great friend and a great roommate. It was one of the most exciting moments of 2008 the day Colin whipped out a ring and on top of a parking lot in Columbia, asked Rachel to marry him.
Colin and Rachel are such a beautiful couple, inside and out. I consider myself blessed to know both of them. I’m looking forward to shooting them for years to come. This particular shoot is part 1 of their engagement pictures–taken on the very parking lot that he proposed to her on. Enjoy!
